Today I am going to share Dry Prawns Rice recipe (सोडे भात). Everyone makes fresh Prawns Pulav but this recipe is made of
Dry Prawns. This is specially prepared in Maharashtra by using some
combination of spices. Do try this out.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Dry Prawns
- 2 cups Basmati Rice
- 4-5 Cloves
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 1/2 tsp. Cumin Seeds
- 4-5 Cardamons
- 2 Medium Chopped Onions
- 1 Medium Chopped Tomato
- 1/2 tsp. Ginger Garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp. Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp. Redi Chili Powder
- 1 tsp. Black Masala (Optional)
- 1/2 tsp. Garam Masala
- Salt as per taste
- Oil as required
Instructions:
Lets start, firstly soak Dry Prawns with warm water for about 10-15
minutes. After 10-15 minutes wash it with cold water. Now wash the Basmati
rice and keep it aside in water for about 15 minutes. Heat the kadai and add
some oil then add cloves, cardamons. bay leaves, and cumin seeds. Saute it
for sometime and add chopped Onions. Add a pinch of salt to make onions
soft. Cook it till onions become little translucent. Now add ginger garlic
paste and mix it nicely for 1 minute.
After this add chopped Tomatoes and cook till it becomes soft. Now its time
to make spicy. Add Turmeric powder, Chili powder and Black Masala powder.
Cook it on low flame then add washed Dry Prawns. Saute it nicely for 2
minutes. Add salt as required. Cover the lid and keep it on low flame for 2
minutes on steam. Now again mix it and add washed Basmati Rice. Mix it
nicely with Dry Prawns for sometime and then add warm water as
required and Garam Masala. Mix it properly. Cook on high flame till it becomes dry. Your Dry Prawns Rice is ready. Garnish it with Coriander Leaves.

Tip: To taste it more better you can have it with Shezwan
Chutney.
