Carrot Halwa without milk | Carrot Sweet

Carrot Halwa is an Indian sweet dish which is prepared using carrots, sugar, milk or milk powder and many more ingredients. Carrot Halwa can be easily prepared during functions, festivals, etc. Carrot Halwa is known as "Gajracho Halwo" in Konkani. This is one of the kids friendly sweet dish. Carrot Halwa is very common Indian sweet dish which is mostly prepared in Indian cuisine. Some people prefer eating sweets after lunch. This recipe is perfect for them.

Ingredients:

- 4 cups reddish Grated Carrot {1 cup = 150gms}

- 1 cup Sugar

- Ghee

- chopped pieces of dry fruits 

- 1 tsp. Milk Powder

- A pinch of Cardamom powder

Instructions:

Let's start. Firstly wash the carrot and dry it out completely with a cloth. Now peel the skin of the carrot and grate it. Now heat the pan and add ghee. Now add grated carrot and fry it in ghee for some time on medium flame. Grated carrots will become little soft and the color will turn to light orange. 

Now add sugar. Stir it nicely. The Sugar will start melting. Keep it on medium gas flame. Stir it continuously. It will become dry. Now add chopped  pieces of dry fruits. Add milk powder and a pinch of cardamom (Elaichi) powder. Mix all the ingredients and turn off the gas flame. Let it completely cool.

Carrot Halwa is ready to serve. 

Tip: You can add milk also instead of milk powder.
