Nimbu Shikanji

Nimbu Shikanji is very famous in Northern parts of India and is loved by people. The other name for Nimbu Shikanji is "Shikanjvi" "Shikanjbi" and "Shikanjbeen" It tastes sweet, sour, and little spicy. I like that flavor combination of black salt and mint leaves which makes the drink more refreshing and aromatic. Nimbu Shinkaji is similar to Mint Lemonade

Nimbu Shikanji can be made easily at home with basic ingredients. Nimbu Shikanji is refreshing summer drink, which is prepared using Lemon, Sugar, Mint leaves and some spices. Nimbu Shikanji tastes good with Soda. You can also try this drink with other soft drinks. This refreshing drink makes re-hydration, which is very essential during summer season. I prepare this during summer to keep my body hydrated.  

Lemon makes the drink tangy, sugar makes its taste sweet, mint leaves gives its own aroma, and lastly spices completes the drink. Adding roasted cumin powder helps in digestion. All ingredients are important for this tasty summer drink. 

Some heath benefits of Lemon or Nimbu

Lemon water is very useful during summer season as it beats the heat. Lemon is rich in vitamin c and boosts immunity. Lemon keeps your body hydrated. Lemon makes your skin glow.

It also improves the digestion. When you feel indigestion you can just add a few drops of lemon to the water. 

You can also add lemon to the ginger water.  Chop ginger, add a little water and squeeze the ginger water. Add this ginger water to the lemon juice, add a salt and drink a teaspoon of it. This also helps in digestion. 

Overall lemon is very good for health.


Ingredients:

- 1 Lemon

- 2 1/2 tbsp. Sugar

- A pinch of Salt

- 1/2 tsp. Black Salt

- 1/2 tsp. Coriander Powder

- 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper Powder

- 1 tsp. Roasted Cumin Powder

- Some Mint Leaves

Instructions:

Wash the lemon and cut them into two pieces. 

Take a glass, squeeze the lemon juice with lemon squeezer. Add sugar or you can also add sugar syrup, add a pinch of Salt, Black salt, Coriander powder, Black Pepper powder, roasted Cumin powder and crushed Mint leaves. Mix all the ingredients. All ingredients should dissolve properly.  

Now add cool water in the mixture. Add ice cubes if you want.
