Tomato Salad recipe

Tomato  Salad is a sweet, sour and spicy dish which is prepared using tomatoes, green chilies and some spices. It tastes very nice. This  is a   Goan dish which is called as "Tomatache Salad" in Konkani. We prepare this dish mostly for dinner. I really love this simple recipe to prepare. You can also call this dish as Tomato Sabji. This dish can be also prepared using onion. Follow the below instructions to prepare this tasty dish.

Ingredients:

- 2-3 Medium size Tomatoes (Long chopped)

- 2 sliced Green chilies

- 1 tsp Cumin seeds

- A pinch of  Asafoetida (Hing) (Optional)

- 1 tsp Mustard seeds

-  1 tsp.  Red Chili Powder

- 1 tsp. Turmeric Powder

- Salt as per taste

- Some Jaggery 

- Some Coriander leaves

- Oil as required

Instructions:

Heat a pot, add  oil,  add cumin seeds, add asafoetida (hing) and sliced green chilies. Fry it for a minute and add mustard seeds. Let mustard seeds crackle. Now its time to add long chopped tomatoes. Fry the tomatoes for some till it completely cooks. Cover it and cook.

It's time to make this dish little spicy, sweet and sour in taste. Now when tomatoes look mashy, add red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt as per taste. Mix it nicely and add jaggery. Let jaggery mix perfectly. Last step is to garnish the dish with coriander leaves. 

You can enjoy this dish with Roti, Chapati, Paratha. 

Tip: You can also add thinly sliced half moon onions.
