Misal Pav

Misal Pav is prepared using Moong, White Mutter and Chickpeas topped with Farsan, Sev, Onion, Coriander Leaves, Lemon etc. Misal Pav is Indian Street food which is famous in Maharashtra. Now lets start.

Ingredients:

1 tsp. Black Pepper powder

1 tsp. Paav Bhaji Masala

- 1 tsp. Garam Masala

- 1 tsp. Roasted Cumin powder

- 3 tbsp. Kashmiri Red chili powder

- 4 tbsp. Grated Coconut

- Salt as per Taste

- ½ cup Moong

- ½ cup White Mutter

- ¼ cup Chickpeas

- 2 Glasses Water

- Salt as per taste

- ¼ tsp. Turmeric powder

- 1 lemon juice

- 2 tbsp Oil

- 1 tbsp. Butter

- Chopped Coriander Leaves

- Chopped Onion

- Farsan

- Pav (Bread)

Instructions:

Misal special paste
Take a bowl add black pepper powder, pav bhaji masala, garam masala, roasted cumin powder, kashmiri red chili powder, grated coconut and some salt. Mix this all ingredients and add ¾ cup water and make paste. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

Boiled Misal
Soak the moong, white mutter and chickpeas for about 7-8 hours. Now in Pressure cooker add this soaked moong, white mutter and chickpeas, add some salt, ¼ tsp turmeric powder and 2 glasses of water. Cook this till 4 whistles. Do not overcook. After 4 whistles keep this to cool down.

Boiled Misal

Heat the Kadai add 2 tbsp. oil, 1 tbsp. butter, add missal special paste and keep some paste separately. Saute it for some time. Now add boiled missal. Mix it nicely and add lemon juice. Boil it for 4-5 minutes. Add chopped coriander leaves on top. Misal is ready.

Now heat the pan add 2 tbsp. oil and 1 tbsp. butter. Now on that spread missal special paste which was kept separately and add chopped some more coriander leaves. Place half cut Pav(Bread) on it for some time and turn off the gas flame.

Now its time to serve. Take a plate add missal, farsan, coriander leaves, and chopped onion. Mix it well. Squeeze lemon juice and enjoy with pav (Bread).

Tip: You can also add Sev on top if you like.
