Jeera rice is a rice cooked with Cumin seeds. Jeera is called as
"Cumin seeds" in Hindi. Jeera rice is also called as
Jeera Pulao or Cumin rice. This jeera rice is very simple to
make.
Basmati Rice is used to make this Jeera rice. Basmati Rice is combined with
Cumin seeds, Pepper, cloves, Masala elaichi, Bay leaves and lastly garnished
with Coriander leaves. Because of basmati rice, the jeera rice becomes more
perfect.
Jeera rice or Cumin rice goes good with
Dal fry.
The combination of Jeera rice and
Dal fry
is fantastic. Cumin seeds are very important and the main ingredient of
this dish. They are also very good for health, as it helps in digestion.
How to make Jeera rice or Cumin rice
Ingredients required to make Jeera rice:
- 2 cups Basmati Rice
- 1 tbsp Cumin seeds (add more if you like)
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 Masala Elaichi
- 4 Cloves
- 4 Pepper
- Chopped coriander leaves
- Oil as required

Instructions to make Jeera rice:
Firstly wash basmati rice and soak it for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, rinse
out the water and keep it aside.
Now heat pot, add oil and add cumin seeds. Saute it and add cloves, masala
elaichi (Cardamom), pepper and bay leaves. Again saute it for sometime.
When you see all ingredients fried perfectly, add soaked basmati rice. Mix the
rice and add hot water. Add salt and again mix.
Now cover it and cook on medium gas flame till the rice cook completely.
Finally garnish it with Coriander leaves. Jeera rice is ready serve it hot
with
Dal Fry
and
Masala Papad.
